Saving Money using a DS800 High Speed insulated Door for Frost Room.
DS800 allows for minimal loss of cold while reducing the door-open time appreciably. Calculations show that in comparison with known insulated doors several hundred “open-door... hours may be saved on an annual basis. (Please refer to the example on the page overleaf).
This door has been developed for use in frost rooms having a high frequency of runs for instance on frost stocks.
The DS800 is made in heavy stainless steel, providing, in addition to a cleaning friendly surface, maximum resistance to the shocks and impact which may occur in a busy everyday work situation.
Like for the other Door System doors, simplicity is the key word. This door has been made so that any collision will not cause any unnecessary downtime. For instance, a collision pushing the door leaf out of the track may be fixed speedily and without using any tools.
The control is the well-known Door System control. Errors/faults and stop-downs may generally be handled by your own staff, possibly backed by a telephone call to Door System. The error/fault indicator will clearly tell you where the error/fault is.
DS800 is protected by a number of patents, including those of door leaf and the special sealing system ensuring that cold and hot air will not meet and form condensation and ice. The door cloth is 43 mm thick and has built-in stabilizing - allowing for good insulation and good resistance to wind pressure.
DS800 additional price options include:
A frost room opened ten times an hour, 18 hours a day for 300 days a year. Savings on this will amount to 52,000 kWh a year, solely calculated on the time during which the door will open and close.
This calculation does not allow for keeping the rate of speed higher through the roll-up door, and for the fact that the dehumidifying system will run considerably less – this all makes for en even better calculation.
